First Show Week!!!

So we got TONS done last weekend......yea!! The show is cleaning up nicely, and it's good to know we'll be ready to jump right in with new stuff when Matthew is here on Friday. I'm excited about finally showing it to other people. :o)

The first show last year was our "snow show".......what a day! I think by that afternoon, we'd done the show 4 or 5 times in a 3 hour block of time........everyone was pooped! We sent the kids home, since the Sunday show was being cancelled, and wouldn't you know it, things warmed up and were fine on Sunday. As luck would have it, they are predicting a major cold front to move in for the weekend.......ugh. They're NOT predicting snow, so that is good. :o)

We're excited to have our HS group with us Saturday too. We're going to rehearse together a bit that morning, then stay together as we go to the show. The HS kids are just getting started on their show, but it's going well for only having 3 rehearsals since auditions! Some of them are brand new to color guard at all, so it will be fun to see them as they have their first guard experience. :o)

The big kids will be staying all together at Abby's house this weekend.......slumber party!!! The school hosting the show doesn't do overnight housing, so they were going to put us up in a church. We would have had to be out by 8am, and if there's one thing about our group, we are NOT good early risers!! We'll still have to get up and out pretty early to rehearse, but at least it won't be quite that early. Hopefully, we can have another "guard history" night too......they loved that at Brandon's last year. I've got DVD's all the way back to the 70's, so it's fun to show them where things came from and how it evolved through the decades. While I'm typing this, Tate High School's 1989 "Science of Modern Motion" show is on.....such fun!!
